Makeup Look: Too Faced Sweet Peach palette Winter Look

It’s no secret that our Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is one of our all time favourite eyeshadow palettes so when Too Faced came out with the Sweet Peach palette in the same format we jumped on it! It has the most glorious warm tones and a great amount of mattes and shimmers!

My favourite look for winter time with this palette is a warm smokey eye and warm nude lips. So let’s jump straight in to it!

The base:

First I used my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation (shade Fair Sand) with my Zoeva Silk Finish brush to create an absolutely stunning airbrushed effect! Then to cover my under eye circles I used my Laura Mercier Secret Concealer (shade 2) and blended that in with my fingers. On top of that I used my Kat Vond D Lock-It Concealer (shade Light 16) to lighten things up and also to cover any spots I had. To set all of that I used my Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Powder on my T-Zone and under my eyes using Zoeva’s Powder brush.

The Cheeks:

To add dimension back to my face I used my The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer under my cheek bones, under my jawline, along my hairline and in my temples with my Zoeva Luxe Highight brush. Then, to add warmth and blend out my contour I used my new (and amazing) Too Faced Sweet Tea Baked Bronzer through the places I had already contoured with Zoeva’s Powder Brush. For blush I used my new favourite, Becca’s Mineral Blush in Flower Child with my Zoeva Luxe Sheer Cheek brush. To finish off my cheeks I swept Becca X Jaclyn Hill’s Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed in Champagne Pop along my cheekbones, cupids bow, nose and eyebrow bones.

The Eyebrows:

Hallelujah! How much better does everything look when your brows done?! For my brows I used my all time favourite brow product, Tarte’s Amazonion Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse in Medium Brown and the brush provided to carve out my brows and then Nars’ clear Brow Gel to set them in to place. To highlight my brow bone I used Benefit’s High Brow.

The Eyes:

To Prime my eyes I used Mac’s Prep and Prime 24Hr Extend Eye base and blended it in with my fingers. To set that I used Peaches ‘N Cream all over my eyelids on Zoeva’s Luxe Crease brush. Then, using Zoeva’s Luxe Petit Crease brush, I ran Puree just above my crease to create depth. I constantly blended with the Luxe Crease brush to diffuse the edges. I also ran Puree under my eyes with the same Petit Crease brush and joined it with the outer part of my eyeshadow on the top lid. I blended Summer Yum on the outer corner of my top and bottom lid with the Petit Crease brush to deapen the look up and add more depth and warmth. Then, using one side of the Cream Shader brush by Zoeva, I patted Caramelized on to the outer 2/3 of my mobile lid and lower lash line, using the other side of the same brush I then put Luscious on the inner 1/3. To finish the eyeshadows up I used Zoeva’s Luxe Pencil brush to put White Peach on the inner corner and along my brow bone. I then lined my upper water line and the outer 2/3 of my lower water line with Maybelline’s Color Show Crayon Kohl Eyeliner in Chocolate Chip and then finished off my eyes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

The Lips:

Because the Sweet Peach palette is so warm toned I wanted to create a nice warm toned, nude lip. To create this I used Chi Chi’s Stay on Lip Liner in It Girl to line and fill in my lips and then used Rimmel’s Apocalips Lip Velvet in Atomic Rose.

So there you have it! My Winter Too Faced Sweet Peach palette look. What do you think? Do you think you’ll recreate it?

Stay happy,

Makeup Look: MAC Winter Makeup – ft. Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipstick

Winter has definitely sunk in so it’s time to stack on our big wooly scarves, coats and gloves, but by far our favourite winter accessory is a bold, dark lip. When I saw the MAC Viva Glam Ariana lipstick at our local MAC counter I knew I had to have it! Luckily enough I still had a Myer voucher from Christmas so I also picked up their Tan pigment that I have been dying over ever since I started getting in to makeup!

So let’s jump straight in to the BASE! My MAC foundations are some of my all time favourites! You’ve heard us rave about our Face and Body foundations way too many times but if I want a bit more coverage I always pick up my Studio Fix Fluid (my colour is NC15, pale girls unite) and today, to make sure my base was perfect, I used the peach shade from my Studio Finish Concealer Duo (shade NW20/NC25) on my dark under-eye circles and the yellow shade on any spots. Then to brighten under my eyes I blended  a little bit of my Select Cover-Up Concealer (shade NW15). My secret for a flawless finish is buffing MAC’s Mineralise Foundation/Loose (shade light) all over my face. The mineralise formula blurs out any imperfections and seriously leaves your skin looking flawless!

Next up is BLUSH, BRONZER AND HIGHLIGHTFirst I used my all-time favourite MAC 135 brush to buff my Matte Bronze bronzer over the low points of the face (under the cheek bones, under the jaw line, along the hair line on the forward and through the temples) to act as a bit of a contour and also just to warm up my face a little. Then I used my favourite MAC blush, Style, along my cheek bones to add a bit of colour and topped it all off with one of my favourite highlighters, Soft and Gentle, along the high points of my face (at top of the cheek bones, along the bridge of the nose, on the brow bone, on my cupid’s bow and on the tip of the nose) to get that glow and give my face dimension.

Now for EYEBROWS. MAC makes my two absolute favourite brow products, the Veluxe Brow Liner (shade Brunette) and Brow Set (shade Beguile). This is honestly the best combination of brow products to make them full of volume and nice and defined! Plus they are super easy to use on the go! 10/10!

Now for my favourite part, the EYES. Before putting any shadows on my eyes I used the 24-Hour Extend Eye Base to make stop creasing and prolong the wear of the shadows. Then I set that with the Mineralise powder foundation. To define my crease I blended shade Wedge from the Sophisticate Look in a Box Face Kit through my crease and also under my eye to give it a bit more definition. Then, I used the Tan pigment on my 233 (a small flat shader brush) on my mobile lid. To intensify a bit more I wet my brush with a bit of Fix+ and dipped it in to the pigment and then packed it on my lid. This also gave it a beautiful metallic look. To highlight my inner corners I used Mac’s Electric Cool Eyeshadow (shade Gilded Thrill) Mascara is the one makeup product I don’t own from Mac (mostly because I’m not sure which one to get – do you have any suggestions?) so instead I used my favourite, Benefit’s They’re Real mascara in Beyond Black. And that’s it for eyes, it’s that simple. I wanted this look to be wearable during the day so didn’t add false lashes but you definitely could if you wanted to wear it on a night out!

Finally for the star of the show, the LIPS! To line my lips I used my Revlon ColourStay Lipliner (shade wine) all over my lips to define them and create an even base for the Viva Glam Ariana Grande lipstick!

Top it all off with a few sprays of Fix+ and that’s it lovelies! What do you think? Do you think you’ll be rocking this look this winter?

Stay happy,

Makeup Look: Drugstore Smokey Eye – Maybelline’s #GetTheLeatherLook

NB: This post is in no way sponsored by any brand, all products were bought with our money and all opinions are our own.

I don’t know about you guys, but recently before every YouTube video I have watched has been Maybelline’s #GetTheLeatherLook advertisement. After ignoring it the first 1-10 times, I finally watched and really liked the look of the products they were using! So I got my butt to Priceline and picked most of them up.

If you want to see my interpretation on #GetTheLeatherLook (using all drugstore products!) then keep on reading!

To start I used my new fave drugstore primer, The Original by Australis. For the base I used Maybelline’s Fit Me Dewy + Smooth in 120 Classic Ivory with my sponge from Real Techniques. As the name suggests, this is one dewy foundation! Not something I wanted with my smokey eye to come, so I powdered under my eyes and my t-zone with the lightest shade from the Australis AC On Tour Contouring & Highlighting Kit.

I have been on the hunt for a liquid concealer that is light enough to highlight my pale skin, and I finally found it in the form of the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous concealer in the shade Light. I put this under my eyes and in my t-zone for a slight highlight.

I have been loving my current brow combo! Such great drugstore products; The Maybelline Brow Satin Duo in Dark Brown and Brow Drama in Medium Brown. They are both great on their own but together they slay!

Now this is the focal point of the look, and where the ‘leather’ part of that hashtag comes in. You’ve probably heard of Maybelline’s 24 hour colour tattoo eyeshadows, they’re amazing. Now they’ve come out with a matter version, the ‘leather’ version. I picked up the shades 08 Creamy Beige, 95 Chocolate, and 100 Dramatic Black. They are just as amazing as their predecessors! Well done Maybelline!

I started out with Creamy Beige just about my crease as a transition colour, followed by Chocolate just underneath and in my outer-v, so that the evolution into the black was more natural and gradual. Finally I used Dramatic black all over the lid, into the crease, outer-v and all over my lower lash line. The key? Blend, blend, blend. I found that using some of the Chocolate shade to blend out the edge of the black really helped. These shadows are fantastically blendable. I really like them. Definitely consider investing in a shade or two, or like 6.

When I purchased the   mascara for this look it came in a little two pack with the Maybelline Master Eyeliner, score! I put this pitch black liner in my upper and lower waterline as well as my upper and lower lash line. As you can see it really brings the smokey eye together, creating a great grungy look.

Another essential to the hashtag, the Maybelline the Colossal Go Extreme! Mascara in Leather Black. Woah. The brush on this bad boy is HUGE! And it delivers on those colossal promises. Volume, Length, and black black leather black lashes. Perfect for this look.

I chose to skip on bronzer for this look as I wanted it to remain grungy, but I also wanted a contour that could cut glass. To achieve this I used the Australis palette from earlier, using shade 5 (middle bottom) to contour my cheekbones and around my hair line. I also used shade 1 (top right) to carve out under my cheekbones. Oooh yeah, I love me a contour.

Oops! I forgot to take photos of this step! I was too excited about highlighting haha I wanted to keep the blush natural so as not to make the look to heavy and Milani’s 01 Dolce Pink is perfect for this. Milani blushes truly are number one, and at such a great price!!

My favourite step. I wanted to keep the highlight in the cool-silvery area of the colour spectrum and so chose the Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl. Does the packaging of this product remind anyone else of a boob? M and I call in the boob highlight…nope just us? Oky dokey then, moving on.

I went for both a nude and bold lip option for this look so that you can take it where your mood takes you!

Lip Option 1 – Nude

Everyone loves a nude lip with a smokey eye and this glossy option really classes it up. I used Maybelline’s Colour Elixer Liquid Lip Balm in Nude Illusion. This is definitely a gloss and not a balm, so don’t be fooled by the name.

Lip Option 2 – Bold

The old adage goes that you can only go big on the eyes or the lips or risk looking like a 90s hooker. But rules are made to be broken! And if you end up looking like a 90s hooker you are doing something terribly wrong.

I chose Revlon’s Super Lustrous Matte in Really Red to finish on the grungy babe look I was going for and I love the result!

I really hope you enjoyed my take on the Maybelline #GetTheLeatherLook! What kind of makeup look would you like to see next? Let me know in the comments below!

Stay beautiful, N x

Selena Gomez’ 2016 Grammys Makeup Look

Monday February 15th saw the who’s who of music coming together for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.  Whilst the awards themselves are a bit of entertainment, our favourite part of any awards show is the red carpet; a chance for us to check out the hair, makeup and clothing style choices of the celebs.  The Grammys always brings with it a bit of flair (the musicians are just a bit more daring that the actors!) and this year did not disappoint.

Our favourite of the night, as you may have guessed, was Selena Gomez.  The girl looked flawless! So decided to do our own interpretation of her makeup look, and it was a lot of fun. Keep reading if you’re keen to see our look and maybe even try it out for your next event.

This look has a pretty intense brown smokey eye so I made sure I started with the eyes to stop any fallout ruining our base. Before I did anything I ran a piece of tape along my lower lash line up to the outer corner of my eyes to give our shadows a nice crisp line. I then primed my eye lids with my MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot and set it with the lightest shade out of the Morphe Brushes 06F Pressed Powder Palette. I ran the lighter of the two contour shades from the same palette through the crease of my eye as a transition shade. Next I used the darkest shade from the Morphe palette in my outer corner and blended everything together with the Sexpresso and Cashmere Bunny from the Too Faced Natural Eyes eyeshadow palette. Finally, to finish off my lid I lined my lash line and gave a very subtle wing with my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper and added my ModelRock Demi Wispie lashes before highlighting my brow bone with Stila eyeshadow in Kitten.

As mentioned earlier, Selena Gomez is a flawless, glowing goddess so I made sure I opted for a full coverage, hydrated base. First I primed my skin with the Loreal Lumi Magique Primer to give me that lit-from-within look and then used a damp beauty blender to give a full coverage of my Makeup Forever Ultra HD Fluid Foundation. This foundation gives a beautiful skin-like finish and can be built up to full coverage without looking cakey.

o highlight under my eyes I used a mixture of my old favourite, the Laura Mercier Undereye Perfector and the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer. To cover up any spots I used a new favourite, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. To set my under eye area I used the lightest, yellow shade from the Morphe 06F Pressed Powder Palette and then used the powder closest to my skin tone to set where I had concealed my spots.

Selena doesn’t have particularly sparse or full brows so I stayed with my favourite brow duo ever: the MAC Brow Set and Veluxe Brow Liner to fill in and define my brows.

Contour and Blush

To get my cheekbones somewhat sculpted to the point of Selena’s, I used the lightest of the two contour shades from the same Morphe 06F Pressed Powder Palette. I then used a mixture of the centre and top right shades from the Morphe 9B The Blushed Blush Palette to give myself a natural-Selena-esque-flush.

Highlighting in always my favourite part of any makeup look and today was no exception. I used our TopShop Glow cream highlighter in Gleam and our brand new absolutely incredible The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer powder highlighter all over the high points of my face and my oh my! This is my new favourite combination. Hello disco ball!!

Lower lash line

To finish off my eyes I used my Covergirl Brow and Eyemakers Pencil in 505 midnight brown to line my lower lash line roughly. (Just a quick note, I am definitely not a fan of this pencil! It gives off hardly any pigment and took me about 15 minutes to get a good line!) then I used Cashmere Bunny from my Too Faced Natural Eyes palette to blend that out and deepen the look. Next I highlighted my inner corner with Stilla’s Kitten eyeshadow and ran Benefit’s High Brow pencil along my inner water line to brighten up my eyes a bit. Finally I finished my eyes off with a good coating of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara in blackest black on my top and bottom lashes (it really helps them blend in with the falsies too!) and tada!!… We’re done!

I ended up changing my lips a little bit to suit my skin tone but play around with whatever combo works for you. First I lined my lips with my Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lasting Lip Liner  before I put our favourite Tom Ford Matte Lip Colour in First Time over the top. Lastly I topped it off with a coating of Napoleon Perdis Luminous Lip Veil in Sienna Shimmer.

Finish the look off with a some curled hair and dangly earrings and there you have it! Go get ‘Em girl!!

Stay happy, -M xx
